The Czech Republic return to a World Cup after missing 2018 and 2022 their first appearance since 2006. Miroslav Koubek replaced Ivan Hašek in December 2025 after the qualification campaign. Patrik Schick, Tomáš Souček, and the Bayer Leverkusen duo of Adam Hložek and Matěj Kovář anchor a team rebuilt after the 2020s wilderness.
Czech Republic endured a difficult group stage, unable to advance despite moments of resistance. Their campaign featured a narrow 1-2 loss to Korea Republic, a 1-1 draw with South Africa, and a heavy 0-3 defeat to Mexico. Mexico proved to be a step too far, and Czech Republic's campaign came to a decisive end in the the group phase.

Patrik Schick, 29, is the captain and the squad's main goalscorer. His Euro 2020 goal from the halfway line against Scotland 45.6 metres out remains a national football icon.
Ladislav Krejčí led Czech Republic's attack with 1 goal at the 2026 World Cup. Shared the top-scorer honours with Sadílek, both with 1.
Koubek, a Prague-born former goalkeeper, was appointed in December 2025 after Hašek's contract ended. He won the Czech league title in 2015 during his second spell with Viktoria Plzeň and brings a pragmatic, domestically rooted coaching identity. Winless under Koubek leading Czech Republic at his first World Cup.
